Learning with Tuni
Do I need to create an account?
No Tuni account is needed. Your name or nickname, preferences, saved words and learning progress are stored on your device. Your Apple Account is used by the App Store if you make a purchase.
How do I change the language or Chinese level?
Open your profile in the app to change the interface language between English and Thai, your Chinese level, your daily goal and whether pinyin is shown. You can also change your Chinese level from the home screen.
Why can’t I hear the pronunciation?
Turn up your device’s media volume and check whether audio is going to headphones or a Bluetooth speaker. Connect to the internet to load audio that has not been downloaded, then tap the word’s speaker again. If one word still has a problem, send us the word and the screen where you found it.
Will my progress move to a new phone?
Tuni does not currently sync learning progress through a Tuni account. Restoring a purchase restores eligible Pro access; it does not restore saved words or learning history. Your device backup may include app data, depending on your Apple settings. Avoid deleting the app to troubleshoot, because locally stored progress can be lost.
Can I learn offline?
Some bundled or previously downloaded learning material can work offline. Loading new stories, images or audio, and checking or restoring purchases, requires an internet connection. We do not guarantee that every lesson will be available offline.
Tuni Pro & purchases
I paid for Pro. How do I restore it?
Use the same Apple Account for Media & Purchases that you used to buy Tuni Pro. Connect to the internet, open Tuni Pro from your profile and choose Restore purchases. If your payment is pending, access becomes available after the store approves it.
If Pro is still unavailable, contact us with your app version, the purchase date and the support ID shown in the app’s support email, if available. Do not purchase again just to resolve this issue.
How do I manage or cancel a subscription?
On iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Tuni Chinese. You can also use Manage purchases in the app’s Tuni Pro screen. Follow Apple’s confirmation to cancel. Deleting Tuni or asking us to delete data does not cancel a subscription.
Cancel before the next renewal. For a free or discounted trial, Apple advises canceling at least 24 hours before the trial ends. The subscription screen shows your access or expiry date. A one-time purchase does not renew.
How do I request a refund?
For an App Store purchase, submit your request to Apple. Apple decides eligibility under its policies and applicable law; Tuni cannot approve a refund on Apple’s behalf.
Lock Screen widget
How do I add Chinese words to my Lock Screen?
Open the installed Tuni app at least once. Touch and hold your iPhone Lock Screen, tap Customize, choose Lock Screen, then tap Add Widgets and select Tuni Chinese. Choose your words in the app under Profile → Word widget. Some personalization options require Tuni Pro.
Why hasn’t the widget changed its word?
iOS controls when widgets refresh and may delay updates to save battery. Open Tuni to refresh the shared word selection. If the selection is empty, save or study some words, or widen your widget filters. Tapping a displayed word opens that word in Tuni.
Your data & feedback
How do I delete my information?
There is no Tuni account to delete. To remove the app’s local data from an iPhone, use Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Tuni Chinese → Delete App. Offload App keeps documents and data. Also remove Tuni widgets, and review your Apple backup settings if you want to remove backup copies. This can permanently remove your learning history.
For waiting-list details, support messages or purchase-related data held by our providers, contact us through the privacy contact below. We may need enough information to locate the record and verify your request. Deleting data does not cancel an Apple subscription.
Can I report a translation or lesson problem?
Yes. Send the Chinese word or story title, the English or Thai text that needs checking, and a brief explanation. A screenshot can help; remove any personal information before sending it.
